Raking out:

When raking out the old mortar, we always use a dust extraction unit.

The benefits of using this equipment include:

• Reduces environmenal impact
• Prevents covering neighbouring properties and vehicles in dust
• Reduces effects on operatives health and passing pedestrians.

Raking out is the noisiest and no doubt the messiest part of the Re-pointing operation, whether you are using traditional hand tools or the more modern power tools. If power tools are to be used (i.e. grinders), they will co-inside with dust extraction units which will take at least 95% of the dust into the dust chamber. These will only be used by experienced tradesmen.
